Question 1

How do I choose between fingerprint, face, palm, and RFID biometric devices?

Accepted Answer

Fingerprint is most cost-effective for indoor office attendance. Face recognition is best for contactless / hygiene-sensitive environments. Palm vein is best for high-security access control. RFID/card is fastest for high-throughput entry points. Many Cams devices support multiple modalities in one unit — use this compare tool to see exact specs side-by-side.

Question 2

Do all Cams Biometrics devices support the same API?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every Cams Biometrics device exposes the same Cams Biometric Gateway API. Same 38 operations, same JSON schema, same webhook callbacks. You can swap hardware without changing application code.

Question 3

Can I compare Cams devices against third-party brands?

Accepted Answer

This page compares Cams Biometrics hardware. For third-party devices (ZKTeco, Suprema, Hikvision, Anviz, eSSL, etc.), the same Gateway API connects via Hybrid Push and exposes the same JSON schema — so the integration cost is identical regardless of brand.

Question 4

Which device should I pick for a school or large enterprise?

Accepted Answer

For schools: face + RFID combo units handle student attendance without physical contact. For large enterprises: multi-modal devices (fingerprint + face + RFID) reduce single-point failure. Contact sales@camsbiometrics.com for a deployment-fit recommendation.
